A British agent and Wanted Down Under star has died after a bizarre fall during his own engagement party.

Desperate friends and family rushed to save Liam but he was pronounced dead before emergency services could arrive.

The exact cause of his fatal neck injury and the precise location of the incident are not yet known.

A coroner’s statement on the officer’s death is expected in the coming days.

Liam took part in the BBC series Wanted Down Under, in which a teenager receives advice about life in Australia before they migrated.

“It’s important now that we wrap ourselves around each other and lean on each other.”

Union president Paul Gale added: “Every time there is a death for a police officer, it doesn’t matter how, it really rocks the core of the police family.”

WA’s Deputy Prime Minister Rita Saffioti described Liam’s death as a “terrible, terrible tragedy”.

She said: “As I understand it, this police officer came over from Britain to start a new life in Washington.

“My condolences go out to the family and friends of that particular officer.”
