‘British Baba Vanga’ who predicted three major historical events grew up in a cave that petrifies those who dare to visit

A fortune teller who predicted three important historical events grew up in a petrified cave.

Mother Shipton, who named “The British Baba Vanga” spent the first years of her life isolated in a dirty, dark hole after her mother was shunned by the community.

Born Ursula Southeil in 1488 to fifteen-year-old Agatha Soothtale, the child grew up in the grim, cold environment until a family eventually took pity on her and her teenage mother.

Mother Shipton was two years old when she emerged from the cave at Knaresborough. North Yorkshirewhere creepy items, such as stuffed animals, clothing and human hair, now hang above the entrance.

Legend has it that Mother Shipton was deformed at birth, ugly and cackled instead of crying.

It is said that she was possessed by strange powers and could see into the future – with many believing she had many accurate prophecies.

Some of her most famous predictions include the Great Fire of London in 1666, the death of King Henry VIIIin 1547, and the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte, in 1769.

Only one of the historical events occurred before Mother Shipton’s death in 1561.

Many in the town feared her and believed her to be a witch.

But she had loyal followers and her prophecies are still read and discussed today.

The cave is estimated to have existed for 10,000 years and has since become a tourist attraction for those brave enough to visit.

There is also a small museum on the site that tells the story of Mother Shipton.

She was buried in Knaresborough and many believe that if you rub your nose on the statue at her grave she will grant you a wish.

Many have since compared her to Baba Vangaa blind Bulgarian woman who has continued to predict the future from beyond the grave.

She is said to have foreseen that Vladimir Putin would invade Ukraine and September 11th.
