According to Portuguese outlet Record, they made a move for the Man Utd captain in January.

A mega-money offer was made to the 29-year-old's agents in an attempt to bring a new superstar to the Saudi revolution.

However, despite the big deal on the table, Fernandes decided to opt for the Red Devils.

But that hasn't stopped Al-Hilal from taking the criticism as a no.

They believe they can tempt Fernandes into a blockbuster move this summer.

Should he move to Al-Hilal, Fernandes will join a team that currently sits seven points ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr at the top of the Saudi Pro League.

Led by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, they form a team packed with stars.

The likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Brazilian superstar Neymar all ply their trade at Al-Hilal.

Fernandes joined Man Utd in 2020 on a £68 million contract.

Since then he has made 215 appearances for the club, scoring 71 goals.

Last season, Fernandes won his first piece of silverware as Man Utd won the Carabao Cup after beating Newcastle.

This season he was appointed club captain by manager Erik ten Hag after Harry Maguire was removed from management.
