The self-love advocate took to social media to share how she deals with “bad reactions” to her body hair.

In a videowe saw Esie wearing one pink halter top, where her chest hair is clearly visible, as she explained: “My rule is to never argue with people! Never confront strangers!

“Your job as someone who embraces your body hair is never to convince others.

“It is important to understand and accept that people are mean. A good person seeing something he or she has never seen before will never make you feel uncomfortable about your body. They can be curious and ask questions, but negative comments or insults are not. something they would do.

“Ignore people in public and keep walking to your destination.

“Generally I don’t get a lot of BAD reactions, but when I do, I wave back, I smile, I look ahead. If they ask me questions because they’re curious, we can start a healthy conversation.

“But if someone insults you, he or she is never looking to have a conversation and learn.”

She also shared two specific instances where she felt judged about having body hair, continuing: “I think the worst [bad reaction] was when I was at the beach and a family was staring at me, and they were really staring at me.

“I just smiled and waved back, but they kept staring at me.

“Or one time when this girl, I was wearing a short skirt, you saw my hairy legs, I was walking, and this girl was staring at me badly, like a mean girl.

People think I’m a normal ‘pretty girl’ until I wear vests in the summer and then I’m branded as dirty, smelly and disgusting

“I just kept walking, heading to my destination. What do you want me to do? Talk back?

“It won’t change anything if you act aggressively. You have to accept that people are mean and that people are miserable, and if you’re happy, be happy.”

In another clipwhich was posted with the caption “Embrace Yourself,” Esie wore a gray bralette top and explained, “I don’t know if y’all realize this but the more women are choosing to protect themselves, their appearance, their body hair and all that if a ‘mistake’ is considered – the less societal beauty standards will have an impact on us and we will be free.

“We will not be ashamed to be ourselves.

“So ladies, come on. We have the current.”
