Christian Brueckner's lawyer brags he'll clear Madeleine McCann suspect of rape charges he's facing – and released from jail
The lawyer for MADELEINE McCann's main suspect, Christian Brueckner, yesterday vowed to clear him of a string of rape charges.
Friedrich Fülscher said he was confident he could defend him against the accusations – including a knifepoint rape of an Irish holiday representative in 2004.

He claimed the charges were part of a witch hunt against 47-year-old Brueckner, who was also suspected of kidnapping a three-year-old child. Madeleine 17 years ago.
Dr. Fülscher revealed that he had hired a powerful and expensive defense team and stressed: “I am convinced that an acquittal can only take place at the end of the trial.”
German drifter Brueckner was identified four years ago as the main suspect in the kidnapping of Madeleine from her family's holiday apartment in Portugal in 2007.
He is in prison serving a seven-year sentence for rape.
He must be before Ashes on Friday court in Braunschweig to face claims that he raped three women and twice sexually abused children Portugal.
His alleged victims include Irish mother Hazel Behan, who says he raped her when she was 20 and working as a holiday worker in Portugal.
A conviction will keep him behind bars; as fears grow, he may never be charged in Madeleine's disappearance.
But Dr Fülscher said the top legal team he appointed had to fight against media bias.
And he warned witnesses: “They will have to be prepared for unpleasant questions.”
