Classroom sword fight ‘organized by TEACHER leaves student, 16, with severed nerves after arm sliced by katana blade’
A teenage student was brutally sliced to pieces by a huge katana blade after her teacher allegedly staged a sword fight.
The 16-year-old was left with her nerves severed after she took part in the classroom confrontation as the adult egged her on from the sidelines, according to a new lawsuit.

The student, identified only as NS in legal documents, was left with long-term injuries from the alarming clash that took place in New Zealand. Mexico in May 2022.
The bloody battle began after a Volcano Vista High School teacher taught both teenagers katana and rapier-style swords, the complaint reported by NBC News states.
Ex-chemistry teacher Loviata Mitchell allegedly had students set up desks to form a makeshift ring and picked pairs of students to fight each other for a minute or two.
The lawsuit alleges: “DM struck NS across her right forearm, wrist and hand with the katana-like sword.”
It adds: “NS suffered a large and deep laceration to her right hand and wrist that is not consistent with a ‘prop’ sword.”
A katana blade is a replica of a Japanese samurai sword and can be up to 32 inches long.
It quickly became apparent that the youngster was in pain, prompting the panicked teacher to allegedly shout “I’m in trouble” as she ordered other students to delete any videos they had taken, according to the lawsuit.
But footage shows two sword-wielding boys crowding desks around them as a timer on a large projection screen counts down to the next day. next one conflict, according to KRQE.
The student’s grandfather was called 20 minutes after the injury and 911 was not called until 30 minutes later, according to the lawsuit filed last week in the 2nd Judicial District. Court.
The girl underwent operations, physiotherapy and sought mental health health counseling and now finds simple tasks challenging, the lawsuit reads.
Her lawyer wrote: “Her wrist and hand are permanently injured.
“These injuries cause her persistent daily pain and prevent her from performing many basic daily tasks.”
An assistant principal, Manuel Alzaga, was also named as a defendant in the lawsuit after she allegedly wrote in a school report that the student suffered the tear during a “lesson on metal and fusing.”
“In response to the report’s question: ‘Does the injury violate school rules?’ Mr. Alzaga checked a box saying ‘No,'” the legal action alleges.
This was said by the youth’s lawyer, Jessica Hernandez KRQE: “It was devastating.
“I mean, as you can imagine, this is a high school girl that this is happening to.
“Not only is her life completely different. Not only is she in pain from a very serious injury that required surgery with a very long recovery, but she now has a very dramatic scar on her wrist.”
She added: “Job prospects are now off the table for her. She will never be able to use her dominant hand like she used to.”
The school district declined to comment when contacted by outlets.
The district noted that Mitchell was fired in July 2022, but it is unclear what led to this.

It comes as two mothers were caught arguing in a Scottish school, leading to a police investigation.
