IMD has stated that parts of the north Indian states will continue to witness ‘cold days’ to ‘severe cold days’ in the coming days. States like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan will continue to shiver for the next two days.
New Delhi: Amid the ongoing cold wave conditions in north India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that parts of north Indian states will continue to witness ‘cold days’ to ‘severely cold days’ in the coming days. States like Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and Rajasthan will continue to experience cold conditions over the next two days. According to the weather department’s latest forecast, dense to very dense fog is likely to remain over northwest India for the next two days. In its daily bulletin, the IMD reported minimum temperatures or night temperatures ranging from 6 to 10 degrees Celsius in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Rajasthan and select parts of Eastern Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh.
Cold to very cold days prevailed at many places over Haryana, at a few places over Rajasthan and in some Pockets over Punjab.

Weather forecast: Dense to very dense fog conditions
According to the weather forecast, dense to very dense fog conditions will prevail during the night and early morning in several areas and isolated pockets of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and East Rajasthan until January 7. In addition, dense fog is likely in isolated areas for the 24 hours following that period.
“Dense to very dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated areas over West Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan for a few hours in the morning on Saturday and dense fog in isolated areas till January 8,” IMD said.
