Delhi Shocker: Woman found decomposed dead in Malviya Nagar apartment; Police investigation underway

The decomposed body of a woman was found in her rented accommodation in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Friday. A police investigation is underway.

New Delhi: A shocking incident has emerged in the national capital where the body of a 30-year-old woman was found in an apartment in Malviya Nagar area on Friday evening. According to police, a PCR call was received about a foul smell coming from the locked flat in Malviya Nagar area around 7.30 pm. A police team was immediately sent to the scene and the apartment, which was locked from the inside, was forcibly opened by the police in the presence of the owner and neighbors.

After opening the doors, police found the body of the woman, identified as Saniya Rai, PTI reported. External injuries could not be detected because the body was decomposed. The crime team inspected the spot and the body was sent for post-mortem.

The police have filed a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and further investigation is underway.
