Delhi University Starts Admission Process for UG Programs; Lessons from August 16

Delhi University Admission 2023: Nearly 71,000 seats are offered in the colleges. About 1,550 unique programs and other college combinations are offered by Delhi University.

Delhi University Admission 2023: Delhi University kicked off the admission process for 78 undergraduate programs for the academic year 2023-24 on Wednesday by launching a portal for registration. Classes for the upcoming academic session are likely to begin on August 16, DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh announced, PTI reported. This is likely to get the academic calendar, which has been disrupted for the past three years due to the Covid pandemic, back on track.

Admission into University of Delhi through CUET Scores

Singh launched the Common Seat Allocation System portal for registration. Like last year, admissions are based on the merit score in the Common University Entrance Test. “The University has now launched its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS(UG)-2023) document which details the procedures that will be followed for admission. Admission to all of these programs and colleges is based on the merit score obtained through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2023),” the varsity said in the statement.

Delhi University Admission: Check Registration Fee

The registration fee is Rs 250/- for UR, OBC-NCL and EWS candidates. Meanwhile, the application fee for SC/ST/ and PwBD candidates is Rs 100. The university offers 78 undergraduate programs and 198 BA program combinations through its 68 colleges, Vice Chancellor Singh announced.

Nearly 71,000 seats are offered in the colleges. About 1,550 unique programs and other college combinations are offered by Delhi University. Singh also announced that the three new B. Tech programs have also been introduced this year, admitting students based on their JEE Mains 2023 score.

B.Com (Hons) has emerged as the most sought after UG course

Singh said B.Com (Hons) has emerged as the most sought after UG course so far with around 1.3 lakh students expressing their interest during CUET UG, followed by B.Com (Pass) with 1, 26 lakh students who expressed their interest in the course. MA (Political Science) is the most sought after PG course.

Delhi University Admission 2023: CSAS Registration

The CSAS (RUG) registration is divided into two phases. The first phase, launched on Wednesday, is a registration process in which the candidates are required to fill in their personal details and academic scores obtained in Class XII. The second phase of the CSAS (UG) process will begin with the declaration of the CUET (UG) results in the second week of July. To participate in the second phase, candidates must log in to their CSAS dashboard and complete the Preference Entry.

In addition, he also launched the portal for undergraduate admission of the School of Open Learning (SOL) and NCWEB. created through the university’s CSAS platform.

Eligibility for this program includes scores obtained in CUET and a practical test to be conducted by the College of Art. Delhi University Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi said that the university has taken numerous steps to make the CSAS portal student-friendly. “A provision has been included to request clarification, where applicable, in the system that allows the colleges to communicate with the candidates. During the online approval process, if a college wants more clarity/information from the candidate, it can ask the candidate a question,” she said.

Delhi University has identified 26 games/sports under its excess quota for sports and 14 categories (including NSS and NCC) under its excess quota for extracurricular activities.

It has been decided that 5 percent of the college’s total sanctioned strength will be allocated to ECA and sports excess quota. The College can allocate between 1 percent and 4 percent to ECA and Sport, with a maximum of 5 percent intake from the College, Singh said. “In addition, no more than 20 percent of the quota’s reserved seats will be allocated to a single program,” the VC added.

Delhi University Admission 2023: PhD Course

In addition to undergraduate programs, the Vice Chancellor announced admission to postgraduate and Ph.D. programs. The varsity will have access to 77 postgraduate programs in 58 departments/centers of the varsity. With a sanctioned intake of 13500 seats (including NCWEB), it has been decided that admission to all postgraduate programs will be based on the scores obtained through the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Admissions conducted by NTA.

This year, admission to the Faculty of Medical Sciences Masters in Respiratory Therapy has also been added to the pool of programs in which admission will be through CUET (PG) merit scores. In the varsity, Ph.D. is offered in 51 programs across different departments and centers.

For admission to the Ph.D. programs of the university, the candidates must appear in a national test such as UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/similar test or in CUET (PhD.). However, Interview is compulsory for all Candidates. As of the 2023-24 academic year, the Ph.D. the registration portal will be opened more than once (2-3 times) in an academic year to allow the candidates to qualify on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET.

CUET UG Result 2023 Preliminary Date and Time

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) in 13 media across India for admission into the Undergraduate Programs in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for all Central Universities (CUs) and Participating Universities in India for the academic year 2023-24. According to a PTI news agency report, the NTA CUET UG Results are expected to be announced in July. Prior to the statement of result, aspirants should note that the CUET UG answer key will come true. Along with the CUET UG answer key, NTA will also release the question forms and answer sheets on its website cuet.samarth.ac.in And nta.ac.in.

  5. Download the CUET answer key and print it out for future reference.
