Travis Kelce’his mother, Donna Kelcebecomes almost as famous as her sons.

Donna, 71, received a surprise welcome when she flew to Frankfurt, Germany, on Thursday, November 2, to attend Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs’ game on Sunday, November 5 against the Miami Dolphins. When America’s favorite soccer mom boarded the plane, she was greeted with thunderous applause.

On images circulates around X (formerly known as Twitter), mom Kelce was seen wearing a denim jacket with Travis’ No. 87 on the front as she walked to her seat. The message included the comment: “Mama Kelce is on my boyfriend’s flight to Germany!! She said everyone cheered.”

While Travis, 34, would probably pay for his mother to sit first class – according to Fox Sportsthe athlete signed a four-year, $57 million contract with Kansas City in 2020 – Donna moved to an economy seat.

Donna pulls double duty when it comes to being an NFL mom. She is also mother to the Philadelphia Eagles all-star center Jason Kelcewho, like his brother, earns $14 million a year, according to USA today.

In addition to the profits they earn on the field, Travis and Jason, 35, have each scored numerous commercial endorsements over the years. Now their mother is also promoting a brand. On Thursday, Donna announced a contest to win tickets to sit with her in a VIP suite when her two sons play against each other in Kansas City on Monday, November 20.

The game will be a rematch of this year’s Super Bowl LVII in February, which the Chiefs won 38-35.

Donna said in an Instagram video on Thursday that she is teaming up with Barefoot Wine “to introduce the Barefoot Bandwagon Box, a space for one lucky competition winner and three of their favorite friends to enjoy football and wine with me and learn more about both during the game between Philadelphia and Kansas City.”

To win the contest, fans are invited to visit Barefoot’s Instagram And Facebook pages to leave a comment about why they want to attend the game and meet Donna.

Although the Kelce family has been making headlines in the sports world for years, they were catapulted into the spotlight in September when Travis sparked romance rumors with Taylor Swift. The 33-year-old singer sat next to Donna at her first Chiefs game that same month, with TV cameras focused on them as they bonded. The pair have since been spotted cheering on Travis together at three other Chiefs games.

Before Donna traveled to Germany earlier this week, she told Fox Digital she feels the NFL is thrilled that Swift is expanding the television audience.

“I imagine they would be happy with any new viewers,” she said. “I mean, how could you not be? Football is essentially easy to get involved with and enjoy, and it’s exciting. The other thing too is that it’s just one of those things that you can deal with. You don’t have to be an expert in it.”

She continued, “So I think it’s nice for the NFL to get new viewers, and I’m sure they’re extremely happy about it and I can’t imagine they would have any problem with that.”

If the stats prove anything, Travis also enjoys having Swift in the stands.

During an October episode of theirs Podcast ‘New Heights’, Jason pointed out to Travis that CBS Sports reported that his stats improved significantly when Swift was around: “When T-Swift is on, you average 99 yards. And if you only leave your friends and the remaining family there, you are at 40.5 meters per game,” he teased his brother.

Donna, meanwhile, told Fox Digital that critics believed the extra attention off the field would hinder her son’s performance, but she is glad he has proven them wrong.

“There were people who said he wouldn’t be able to make it through the season, that he wouldn’t be a good football player,” Donna explained. “But it turns out that the more he is pushed or challenged, he takes it to a new level.”
