An irate motorist has been branded a ‘dramatic busybody’ after leaving a scathing note to a homeowner who failed to warn neighbors of a pothole outside their property.

Earlier this week, an anonymous Reddit user based in Britain shared a photo of a note slipped into the top of the traffic cone the driver left over the pothole. Casual UK forum.

In the note, the driver – who had his car damaged by the pothole – argued that it was the responsibility of those living near the pothole to “put something over it.”

The note read: ‘Note for living in this hole.

‘It would have been helpful and thoughtful for other people in the village to post about this hole, rather than someone else having to do it.

A begrudged motorist left a passive-aggressive note for residents pulling off near a pothole, saying they should have been ‘considerate’ and put something over it

“We just smashed our front wheel to pieces.”

After posting the note through the door, the anonymous driver left a traffic cone over the hole in the road in defiance.

However, the Reddit user quickly defended themselves in the caption, claiming that they had tried to fix it.

They wrote: ‘Nice piece of village drama. I think all houses should have a traffic cone.

‘I’ve had a big hole outside our house for weeks. Reported to the municipality 3 times.’

People flooded the comments with support for the poster, with one person joking that the den was part of the ‘rustic aesthetic of the village’.

“If you had put a cone there they probably would have gotten annoyed because you reserved a parking space,” one user joked.

A second argued: ‘Every village has its busy body drama lama. Ours posted pictures of dog poop on our village Facebook page…’

A third asked: ‘How is road maintenance your problem?’

“Shouldn’t they be angry at the people who didn’t keep the road in good condition?”

A fourth replied: ‘I’m pretty sure vision is one of the requirements for driving.’

Others joked about the passive-aggressive note, saying they “loved” how it looked like it had been “ruined and thrown away.”

One user joked: ‘How dare you live near a danger I didn’t notice!’

While another added: ‘Should have left their broken front wheel over it. A clear warning signal.’

Some commenters were a little more concerned about the speed at which the driver would have been traveling to break his wheel in a pothole.

One wondered: ‘Firstly the hole looks small and secondly it is right next to the kerb. How fast were they driving so close to the sidewalk?’

A second chimed in: ‘I’d be more concerned that there’s someone in the village driving fast enough to damage their wheel while driving so close to the pavement.’

Meanwhile, a third joked: ‘Oh look, a driver blaming everyone but himself again.’
