Duchess of Rutland and Lady Violet Manners have dinner at London’s private members’ club

The Duchess of Rutland stepped out for dinner at a London members club last night with her eldest daughter.

Emma Manners, 60, wore a black coat with white floral appliqués for her dinner at Loulou’s Members’ Club with daughter Violet, 30.

The Duchess lives in a separate wing of The Crown’s Belvoir Castle from her estranged husband, the Duke of Rutland. She has since found love again and is in a long-term relationship with Phil Burtt, the manager of the castle estate.

Joining her at the table was her daughter Lady Violet Manners, who looked chic in a long black coat and pinstripe trousers. She completed the look with a pair of casual white sneakers.

The mother-daughter duo are the brains behind a podcast called Duchess, which explores the heritage of Britain and Ireland. Violet came up with the idea when she was studying in Los Angeles and became homesick for England.

While out for dinner, the Duchess paired her jacket with understated black trousers and a leather bag with bamboo-style straps.

She was also seen carrying a phone case that appeared to feature the late Queen Elizabeth II’s ER symbol.

The couple parted ways after dinner and went home in separate taxis.

Emma and Violet’s appearance comes after the Duchess turned 60 in September and held a raucous Swinging Sixties-themed birthday party at the castle to celebrate.

‘Reached 60! With outstretched wings,” she joked to her Instagram account as she shared the image of her ‘crowd surfing’. “Seventy, here I come.”

The month before, the opulent Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire – which has long been the location of choice for popular historical dramas including The Crown – was also the centerpiece for Violet’s 30th birthday celebration.

The Duke of Rutland’s eldest daughter hosted a ’13 going on 30′ themed party in the grounds of the 15,000 acre estate.

Emma has previously said that running the stately home is not ‘just glamour’ and is not ‘for the faint of heart’.

Emma describes how families in stately homes often have to ‘muck in’ and recalled a time when she had to go up to the roof in her nightgown and rubber boots to get out two dead pigeons blocking the drain.

The Duchess, who grew up on a farm near Cardiff, Wales, has called Belvoir Castle her home since her June 1992 marriage to David Manners, the 11th Duke of Rutland.

Last year she revealed she suspects the castle is haunted during a performance in Lorraine.

During the talk show in September 2022, Emma said she heard bagpipes coming from the castle elevator shaft late at night. The socialite admitted that “there are things you can’t explain” about their home.

Belvoir Castle was the setting for scenes in 2007’s Young Victoria, The Da Vinci Code and The Crown – where Matt Smith and Claire Foy filmed in one of the opulent rooms of Belvoir Castle, which replaced Windsor Castle.

The 356-room castle is themed around classical opulence dating back to the 18th century when it was first restored. The bedrooms feature four-poster beds, rich tapestries, fur rugs and fireplaces.

And the opulent interiors don’t stop there, with bathrooms featuring marble tops, dressing tables, intricate wallpaper and the modern touch of his and hers sinks.

Dinners are fit for a king and take place at tables that span an entire room, surrounded by fireplaces, chandeliers and gigantic portraits of ancestors.

A large library, complete with oriental rugs and chandeliers, is described by Emma as her ‘favorite afternoon spot’ in an earlier social media post.
