If left unchecked, it can cause mold to grow and cause health problems such as asthma attacks, rashes and allergic reactions.

But there are some simple and inexpensive ways to keep condensation at bay, including using wipers.

The tool comes with a blade, sometimes made of rubber, that can be used to wipe away excess water from damp surfaces.

You don’t have to spend a fortune on it either.

Dunelm is selling one for just 80 cents, which comes with dozens of five-star reviews from avid shoppers.

One said: “For the price this is a very good product, only 80 cents (you) can’t go wrong.”

A second said: “Budget article that does its job. Why pay more than you have to?”

A third added: “Exceptionally cheap but effective shower cleaner that removes all water stains after showering. We have now bought three.”

And a fourth commented: “Easy peasy, 80p squeaky! Can’t say fairer than that.”

Shoppers can pick up one of the wipers for free from their local Dunelm store via click and collect, or from £3.95 for delivery.

How else to tackle condensation?

If you don’t feel like using a squeegee, you can remove condensation without spending a cent using the dust fluffing method.

The German term literally means ‘shock ventilation’ and involves opening windows to let stale air out and fresh, colder air in.

Matan Korin, vice president of sales at Ecoline Windows, previously told The Sun: “[Stoffluften] sees how several windows in a house are opened for no longer than three minutes.

“This creates a draft, which replaces most of the warm, moist air in your home with cold air from outside.”

If you have exhaust fans, make sure they are turned on as this will also improve ventilation throughout your home.

They are usually found in the kitchen and bathroom, where most of the warm air is produced.

Dehumidifiers can also be helpful in removing excess moisture in the air, and they don’t always have to be expensive.

We spotted one on Dunelm’s website for £49, while Boots has one for £40.

You can also buy mini dehumidifiers from as little as £1 if you don’t want to spend even less.

How to remove mold

Bleach is usually all you need if you don’t want to deal with cleaning sprays and paint.

You need to mix four parts water with one part bleach.

Then, with a stiff brush, a bucket of water with clothes and another for drying, you can apply the solution, scrub away the mold, then rinse and wipe.

Make sure you pay the area dry before moving furniture or placing items in front of it.

You can also buy mold and mildew removal sprays from stores such as Sainsbury’s for just £1.50.
