EastEnders’ actress Louisa Lytton plays Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story during UK stage tour

Louisa Lytton, 34, will star as Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story on a UK stage tour.

The EastEnders actress has announced she is taking on the iconic role and will be starring in theaters across the country from September.

Louisa, who is best known for playing Ruby Allen in Albert Square, took to Instagram on Thursday and posted a promotional image of herself in character and shared details of her exciting news alongside it.

She wrote: Excited to finally be able to say I’m back on stage! With a new cast from @222aghoststory A gift of a role, an incredible script. Pretty dreamy stuff. Catch us all over the UK from 1 September! See you soon.’

Joining her on tour will be fellow EastEnders alum Joe Absolom as Ben, It’s A Sin star Nathaniel Curtis as Sam and Scottish actress Charlene Boyd as Lauren.

Louisa will star in the play as Jenny, who thinks her new house is haunted, but her husband Sam remains skeptical.

In the play, they argue with their first dinner guests – old friend Lauren and new partner Ben – and decide to stay awake until 2:22 am to discover the truth.

Louisa first appeared on screens as the troubled runaway Ruby Allen in EastEnders in 2005, hanging out around Albert Square with the likes of Stacey Slater.

The actress went on to appear on the small screen in The Bill, Casualty and Murdoch Mysteries, as well as stage productions such as Grease.

She returned to her EastEnders role in 2018, nearly 12 years after leaving the BBC One Soap.

In 2017, Lytton began a relationship with businessman Ben Bhanvra, after the pair met through a mutual friend.

The couple became engaged on February 7, 2019, on Lytton’s 30th birthday, and later married in Italy in July 2022.

In March 2021, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child. Their daughter, Aura, was born on August 30, 2021.

In April, it was revealed that Jaime Winstone would be taking over Cheryl as Jenny in 2:22 A Ghost Story in May at the Apollo Theater where she will perform until September 17.

The West End thriller relies heavily on what’s known as stunt casting – where a celebrity, often with little or no acting experience, is given a role to sell tickets.

One Tree Hill actress Sophia, 40, joins Jaime on stage after taking on the role of Lauren in the hugely popular West End show.

Game of Thrones star Ricky Champ plays Ben in the West End play, while theater star Clifford Samuel also forms the current cast.

Jaime is best known for her portrayal of Barbara Windsor in Babs, as well as her roles in Kidulthood, Dead Set, and After Hours.

In 2009, she made her stage debut in The Fastest Clock in the Universe, playing Foxtrot’s pregnant fiancé Sherbet Gravel.

Sophia starred as Brooke Davis in CW drama One Tree Hill before landing roles in Chicago PD and medical drama Good Sam.

A range of big celebrity names have taken the stage in the rotating cast, including Cheryl, Lily Allen, Laura Whitmore and Tom Felton.

Cheryl made her West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story and has managed to achieve huge success on stage by sharing her desire to try more acting projects.

The pop star starred in the thriller production alongside EastEnders actor Jake Wood, comedian Louise Ford and theater star Scott Karim.

Lily Allen was the first to take on the role of Jenny when the West End play opened in the summer of 2021. The singer received critical acclaim and a nomination for Best Actress at the Olivier Awards.

Doctor Who actress Mandip Gill took over the role from Lily Allen, while podcaster Giovanna Fletcher was also previously cast in the lead role.
