EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: David Bowie's daughter Lexi Jones opens up about the personal turmoil and fear she endured after her father's death

David Bowie's death eight years ago this month, at the age of 69, left the pop world devastated.

Now, the singer's only daughter, Alexandria, known as Lexi Jones, has revealed her personal turmoil. In an extraordinary online article, Lexi, 23, whose mother is Bowie's widow, supermodel Iman, 68, describes the fear she felt after losing her father.

“I confused life with surviving life's days by filling the bottomless void of my body and drowning myself in toxins and poisons,” she recalls.

“I got involved in things I never thought I would be a part of. Placing myself in situations that added to the already crumbling foundation of my family ultimately led to lonely isolation… I hurt those I loved most with hateful words to give them at least a little bit of pain to make me feel what I went through every day.

“It felt easier to label myself as a psychopath than to give in to the lack of introspection in an attempt to justify my harmful actions.

'Becoming such a violent and angry person was incredibly at odds with the sweet and gentle girl I used to be.'

Lexi grew up in New York with her father and Iman, his second wife.

Lexi, now an artist, has previously said: 'I have struggled with mental health issues. Art has always been a coping mechanism to get out of dark places.”

She has a half-brother, film director Duncan Jones, 52, whose mother is the singer's first wife, Angie Bowie, 74.

Jones was called Zowie Bowie to rhyme with his father's stage name, but he started using the name Duncan at the age of 18.

Clancy felt the need to inform her husband, former England footballer Peter Crouch, 42. “I said, 'Pete, I'm actually only 37.'”

She became confused because she had lied about her age in the past. “I went through a phase of adding years, so I looked good for my age.”

Crouch won't complain. When asked what he would have become if he had not become a footballer, he replied: “A virgin.”

Spider-Man star Tom Holland's father, comedian Dominic Holland, was thrown into disarray this weekend when he acted as auctioneer at the launch of the TTIKR Global App Gala at London's Rosewood Hotel.

At the auction in aid of paralyzed daredevil Eddie Kidd, a painting by Fawlty Towers waiter Manuel reached a bid of £400 when a guest shouted '£600'.

The bidder then did not answer when Holland asked him to identify himself. “You can't get shy now,” he said. “Is that an offer, or do we have something in the room?” Embarrassing.'

Eventually another guest stepped in and bought the work for £600.

The artwork was created by Georgina Baillie, the 38-year-old granddaughter of the late actor Andrew Sachs, who played Manuel. She tells me, “I'm relieved.”
