Emma Roberts says 'Angel' son Rhodes growing up is 'magical'
Emma Roberts and ex-boyfriend Garrett HedlundRhodes' three-year-old son grows up before their eyes.
“He's faster than me,” Roberts, 32, joked Entertainment tonight on Tuesday, January 23 during the red carpet premiere of Feud: Capote vs. the Swans. “But that doesn't really say much. It's magical. He is an angel.”
We weekly announced the news in June 2020 that Roberts and Hedlund, 39, were expecting their first baby. A few hours later, the actress' mother, Kelly Cunningham, confirmed the news herself.
“It was a disaster,” Roberts recalled during an October 2020 appearance about the revelation Jimmy Kimmel Live! “And I discovered it all on a plane. So I couldn't reach her. For example, I couldn't call her or attack her. I can just iMessage her and DM her and ask her to stop. When I said to her, “Mom, you revealed my pregnancy,” she says, “Emma, you announced it.” I said, 'No, I didn't do that.'”
She added at the time: “I blocked her at one point. It was my only weapon. She texted me at 2am: 'Queen, did you block me? Sad face.' I was like, 'Yes, I blocked you.' Then I unblocked her. It was an Instagram war with my mother that I never saw coming. A good story to tell the baby.”
Roberts gave birth in December 2020 and split from Hedlund almost two years later. Since then, they have remained committed to amicably co-parenting Rhodes.
“Happy Mother's Day to the most beautiful mother, dear Emma!” Hedlund, who was first linked to Roberts in 2019, wrote via Instagram in May 2022. “You have given us a gift that never ceases to melt our hearts, blow our minds and make everything else just fly away, from morning to night. ”

Roberts, who has since moved out with his boyfriend Cody Johannesreiterated Tuesday that she was grateful to have Rhodes in her life.
“I love it. I'm lucky. I just have to finish work on a show, I get to go see my three-year-old tomorrow,” she said. AND, referring to American horror story. “And I get to celebrate tonight, so life is good. I am very grateful.”
Roberts, a staple in Ryan Murphys television universe, recently starring as the opposite lead Kim Kardashian on AHS: Delicate. Murphy, 58, also leads the Feud anthology series, including the upcoming one Capote vs. the Swans.
