This is the emotional moment a woman told her husband they were expecting a baby after the couple had been trying for 15 years.

Brie Owens, 37, an Atlanta-based mother of four adopted children, announced the surprise on camera to her husband Stephen, 39.

During the short clip, Brie initially teased her husband about the possibility of becoming pregnant in the near future, a sentiment he called “crazy.”

Brie then shared the jaw-dropping news that a pregnancy test she had previously taken came back “positive.” After a short pause you hear both of them burst into deep sobs.

The video started with the happy couple discussing renovation plans for their home, before Brie unexpectedly asked, “What happens if I’m pregnant?”

Stephen, a data analyst, was at a loss for words and instead stumbled over his speech.

He left briefly to care for their children before returning with the response: “That would be insane.”

“God is good,” he continued. “And He will take care of us. Can you imagine being pregnant? Like William won’t even be one.”

Then Brie blurted out, “Well, I took a test.”

An already restless Stephen looked partly bewildered and confused, even having to control himself with both hands.

Before he could regain his composure, his wife added, “It’s positive.”

He put his hands to his face and rushed to his pregnant wife – and what was once a gigantic smile turned into tears of joy.

‘Is this a joke?’ he asked through tears.

Brie clearly couldn’t keep the news a secret from her darling for much too long and told him she had only known about it for five minutes.

The life-changing news kept Stephen in tears until the end of the video.

In August this year, Brie noticed her period was late, but initially put it down to stress.

“I’m very regular, but we’ve had a very stressful month,” Brie said. ‘We are working on a renovation.

“My mom is in the hospital, so I thought that was it.”

But when Brie took the test and saw the positive number, she was “shocked” and quickly decided to surprise her husband with the remarkable news.

‘I took the test and was just in shock.

‘Stephen didn’t know about the test because I wanted to surprise him by chance.

After Brie blurts out that she's pregnant, the already troubled Stephen looks equal parts bewildered and confused - in fact, he has to keep himself grounded.

‘I just wanted to confirm that I was pregnant. It was an affirmative deal, not a hopeful deal.”

The couple had been trying to have a biological child since 2008, but when they realized this wasn’t going to happen, the couple held on to hope for about a year and a half before deciding to leave it to fate.

Brie said, “We tried it for a year and a half at first, but it just started to feel exhausting and weird.

“It was always the case that if it happens, it happens, but we definitely never stopped trying.”

They were never told they were infertile, but felt strongly that they wanted to use natural remedies, not treatments such as IVF.

The couple desperately wanted to raise children and decided that adoption was the best option for them.

They started the process to adopt Joseph, their first child, in 2013 and were adopted in 2015.

Now the couple has four adopted children from foster care, with nine-month-old William being the youngest, who was adopted earlier this year.

The Owens family didn’t plan to adopt so many children, but they couldn’t bear the idea of not helping as many children as possible.

Brie added, “If the situation were to arise, we would not send a child from our home if adoption or permanent guardianship were an option.”

And after 15 years of infertility and four adopted children, the couple is now expecting their fifth child and couldn’t be more excited about the “crazy” idea of expanding their family.

‘After so long you don’t even think about it anymore. It is hard to explain. You might hope for it, but you don’t expect it,” Brie said.

‘We already have four children, this is crazy but so exciting.

“It hasn’t really taken hold yet, but I’m very, very excited. We can finally tell our parents, our friends and our children that it worked.

“Our children are also very excited to be big brothers and sisters again.”
