England have no chance of winning the Six Nations like they did

Talk about a tough start… and that's just me wanting to pick the winner of tonight's opener when France play Ireland.

It's almost too close to call and it gives me goosebumps to root for France just because they're on home soil.

For me the Six Nations is somewhere between the two.

England are off to a great start with Italy away and Wales at home, and it's amazing how the mentality changes with the momentum that a few wins can bring.

But if they continue to play as they have done – the World Cup match against South Africa is the exception – they will not be at the top there.

That's why coach Steve Borthwick has to put his neck to the block and show who we are.

I don't mind finishing third or even fourth as long as we see signs of a new England.

Wales have a lot of untried and untested players, so this is their big opportunity, and every time they are written off they always seem to play out of their skin.

Coach Warren Gatland has been around for a long time but has certainly done his job this time and it could be a tough Six Nations for the Welsh.

Scotland have a backline that can rival anyone in the league, especially with magician Finn Russell at number 10.

If they can put a platform in the front, they'll get something from the back, but I'm not sure they can do that.

That said, Scotland WILL cause problems, they can cause some unrest and they are at home with France and England.

But when it comes to the winner of the Six Nations, look no further than tonight in Marseille.

For me that's France… but only just.

And maybe I'll change my mind at kick-off!
