The Boys star Erin Moriarty returned to Instagram on Friday — just a week after leaving the platform and promising an “extended, if not permanent, hiatus.”

Her decision to leave the social media network came after Megyn Kelly scathingly accused Moriarty of being obsessed with plastic surgery.

'She has the Kim Kardashian lips, she made her nose so thin it now looks like a pencil,” Kelly said. “I think it's a sign of a mental illness.”

Moriarty, 29, retaliated by dramatically announcing her departure from Instagram, explaining that she was not deleting her page but would stop posting because the public had “lost the privilege of this account.”

But this Friday, she relented and posted an Insta Stories post, expressing her gratitude to the “vulnerable” fans who “came forward to talk to me” and “share stories that should be heard WAY more than mine.'

She began her message to fans by explaining that she “came in to say 1) I love you all, 2) and grateful to be able to hold my little guy again.”

Moriarty added, “and 3) those who came forward to talk to me were vulnerable enough to share: You are fucking amazing. stories that should be heard WAY more than mine. I believe we still have a long way to go. meanwhile, talk to me.”

The Jessica Jones alumna insisted, “I want to hear it. safe zones, empathy and/or sympathy, and catharsis: a healing combo. believe me.'

Moriarty announced her first departure from Instagram, a week after Kelly sparked backlash with a recent podcast episode in which she took aim at Moriarty's appearance.

Moriarty opted not to deactivate her Instagram account entirely so fans could still see her scathing message to 53-year-old Megyn Kelly.

She told fans and haters alike that they had “lost the privilege of this account.”

The actress wrote, “The only reason I haven't deactivated my account is because I left this here. Otherwise, consider it deactivated.

“I won't have access to it for an extended, if not permanent, hiatus.

'Social media does not come naturally to me and it was an energy investment to get in touch with you.

“And I am shocked by the response, the reductive assumptions and the aforementioned video [of Kelly’s comments] that is a primary example of such harassment.

'It broke my heart. You broke my heart. You have lost the privilege of this account.

'I will not accept the way this has been discussed, the way I have been spoken to. I have been in a hole and consumed by this personal situation.

“You never know what someone is going through, social media is a platform that is not representative of a whole person, and either way there is no excuse for the words spoken directly to me or about me.”

Actress Erin Moriarty recently shared this image on her Instagram, leading to accusations from Megyn Kelly that she “completely changed her face” with plastic surgery. In response, Moriarty said the photo was taken ten years ago and that her changed appearance was only due to “contouring.”

Moriarty shared the response nearly a week after Kelly's controversial podcast comments, saying she had “no idea what was going on” amid the social media frenzy as she endured “one of the most challenging weeks of my life.”

“And I specifically thought that when I emerged from this period — so stressed that I've barely been able to eat and sleep — I thought, OK, I'm going to emerge this 10 pounds thinner and the verbal abuse/accusations are going to fly,” she went Through.

While Moriarty said she expected viewers to suspect she was on drugs or hit her with “a flippant 'just eat a burger' comment,” she was stunned by the hostile response that came instead.

“You learn to become Teflon and move on – I had NO idea what was going on this time,” she said in the post.

“To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive, in a way ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the way (sic) – to learn the widespread nature of this has horrified me.”

Although Kelly claimed in her appearance that the image of Moriarty, which the actress recently shared on her Instagram before deleting it, was from “a year ago,” Moriarty said it was actually much older.

Moriarty shared the response nearly a week after Kelly's controversial podcast comments, saying she had “no idea what was going on” amid the social media frenzy as she endured “one of the most challenging weeks of my life.”

She said the photo was “actually taken about ten years ago before I was of legal drinking age,” and called on Kelly to “maybe do some research that would take 30 seconds.”

“It's appalling how completely uninformed, inaccurate and clickbait-seeking the people we follow and consider informed are,” Moriarty said in the angry post, which contained a number of grammatical errors.

The comments in question came on Kelly's podcast with journalist Michael Knowles earlier this month, where she accused Moriarty of “completely changing her face” with plastic surgery.

She made the comments in response to Moriarty sharing the supposedly decade-old photo this month, while Kelly continued: “She has Kim Kardashian's lips. She has made her nose so thin that it now resembles a pencil.

“She has something like what seems[s] for me it's cheek implants.

'More and more young women are doing this.

'It's not about an objection to plastic surgery, it's about an obsession with turning yourself into a fake version of yourself… I think it's a sign of a mental illness.

'It's extremely disturbing. It's just a huge turn off for me. “I really want to get into the heads of these young girls and say, 'Please don't do this,'” she said.
