An eshay has sparked backlash after getting caught up in a petty altercation with an elderly man on a tram.
The boy was on public transport in Melbourne when the awkward encounter unfolded with the fellow passenger.
He had rested his feet on the banister before the older man brushed them away so he could hit the stop button.

The eshay filmed the moment when the argument escalated as he put his feet back on the railing.
He defiantly asked if the older man was “okay” before getting a terse answer.
‘Not yet. You’re an asshole,” said the older man.
‘A foot doesn’t go there, it goes on the ground.’
The eshay puts his feet back up before the older man tries to brush them back down – but the eshay keeps them firmly planted on the railing.
“Are you the law?” he asked sarcastically.
“You’re breaking the law,” the older man snapped back.
“Eat sh**,” the esahy replied.
Footage of the incident was uploaded to Reddit, where social media users immediately turned on the eshay.
“Don’t try to be a whip and people will be nicer to you,” one wrote.
Common courtesy need not be plastered as law everywhere. You’re just a ***,’ added a second.

“The fact that he’s filming this while waiting for it to happen says it all,” wrote another.
The boy told Daily Mail Australia he felt he had been unfairly targeted by the backlash and explained there was more to the story than the video showed.
In Victoria, it is illegal to put your feet on seats on public transport and signs on the windows warn that fines apply for anyone caught red-handed.
According to Legal Aid Victoria, feet should remain on the ground when commuters travel by train, tram or bus.
“It is an offense if your feet are on anything other than the floor,” their website reads.
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t put your feet on the fabric part of the seat.”
The fine for setting feet on anything other than the floor without a reasonable excuse is $277 for an adult and $92 for a child.
