India reached the final after a 70-run win over New Zealand in the semi-final in Mumbai. India has entered its fourth World Cup final, having won the title in 1983 and 2011, while losing by 125 runs to Australia in South Africa in 2003. India will be aiming for their third title and avenge the heartbreaking loss to the mighty Aussies that day in Johannesburg.

In the second semi-final, Australia defeated South Africa in another tight match in Kolkata by three wickets to reach their eighth World Cup final. Aussies have previously won five World Cups: 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2015.

In their unbeaten run in the tournament, India have done nothing wrong. Their top flight has fired runs with an attacking intent that puts the opposition at the base itself on their backs. The midrange offers a mix of aggression and stability that not many teams have brought to this tournament.

The pace attack was fiery throughout the tournament, while the spinners were baffling and difficult to read. Barring a few moments where India’s top order broke down or certain bowlers looked off, Team India maintained its dominance and the result is 10 wins in 10 matches.
