The popular Sydney burger franchise is collapsing after running up thousands of dollars in debt

A burger franchise chain has collapsed after accumulating tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid bills.
Bass Hill Burger Pty Ltd, trading as Flip Burger Bass Hill, in southwest Sydney went bankrupt last month.
The restaurant, which is part of the Flipp Burgers chain, owed $24,000 in electric bills.
The case went to court when the company failed to settle the debt with their energy supplier, news.com.au reported.
Flipp Burgers has restaurants in the north and west of Sydney, and the Bass Hill store is still on the website.

The franchise opened in November 2020 and was ordered into compulsory liquidation by the Victorian High Court, with Robert Ditrich and Andrew Scott of accounting and restructuring firm PwC appointed as liquidators.
“We are in the early stages of this liquidation and are currently trying to determine the number of creditors and how much they may owe,” said a PwC spokesperson.
“The creditors should have received an initial notification, otherwise they should contact us.”
The song for the Bass Hill franchise has been disconnected, but their Instagram page is still active.
The energy supplier, the ATO and the lessor of the franchise have all been classified as creditors.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Flipp Burgers for comment.
