The 55-year-old actress attended the awards ceremony on Sunday, January 7, wearing a strapless Gabriela Hearst dress covered in embroidered vaginas.
During the event, Anderson confirmed the unique design Deadline. “[I wore it] for so many reasons,” she told the publication. “It fits the brand.”
Most likely, Anderson was referring to her role on the hit show Sex educationin which she plays Jean Milburn, a sex therapist.

Anderson accessorized the unique dress with a maroon Aquazzura patent leather bag and a diamond necklace, bracelet and earrings from luxury jeweler Chopard.
She wore her long blonde hair behind her shoulders, and wore smokey eye shadow, long eyelashes, light blush and pink lipstick.
Anderson posted an Instagram video on Monday, January 8, wearing the iconic look as she walked through her hotel lobby on her way to the ceremony.
She captioned the post: “#yonioftheday @goldenglobes style 😉 So happy to collaborate with my friend @gabrielahearst on this beautiful custom embroidered dress. Each yoni motif took approximately 3.5 hours to embroider and was made entirely in New York’s garment district.”

In a 2020 interview of FashionAnderson talked about her experience acting in sex education, as well as the taboo barriers she believes have been broken.
“Nothing like this had ever been done before,” she said at the time. “It allowed young people to have conversations about things that were considered shameful. Those things are part of our everyday lives, but people pretend they don’t exist because they bring up too many feelings or reveal too much about ourselves.”
