Golden Globes 2024: How famous faces are ditching fake tans and hair and eyelash extensions as they return to the ‘natural look’ on the red carpet
Red carpets are often a place for spray tans, eyelash extensions and hairpieces.
But it seems like many celebrities ditched the typical trappings of faux glamor for a more natural, understated look on the Golden Globes red carpet last night.
White, cream and beige dresses seemed to be the look du jour at the Beverly Hilton in California last night, with dozens opting for lighter looks, and those with lighter skin tones eschewing the cardinal fashion rule of avoiding white.
Among them was Emma Stone, who wowed in a custom sheer bronze Louis Vuitton dress.
The Poor Things star, 35, went for an all-natural look with minimal makeup and her natural alabaster skin tone.

She also eschewed hair extensions for a sleek red bob, opting for an understated makeup look with black lashes and a creamy foundation.
Elle Fanning accompanied her in a white fairytale dress.
Wearing a pale vintage Pierre Balmain number, paired with Cartier jewelry, you could see how the actress was tempted to opt for a tan to give her some color, but she kept the look au natural.
New Zealand actress Rose McIver showed off her blossoming baby bump in a peachy pink Gucci dress, as she took the natural look one step further by wearing her hair in a messy bun.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Debicki and Natasha Lyonne also opted for pale dresses, while Christina Ricci and Marvel star Karen Gillan also wore lighter looks.
Stars in darker colors also opted for a subdued makeup look, orange-brown shades, acrylic nails and eyelash extensions for more subdued, but equally glamorous styles.
Among many of the stars, there was nothing bolder than a red lip.
It comes amid a wider trend of a return to a more natural look, as influencers and celebrities have eased into fillers, BBLs and extensions

Blac Chyna, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Courtney Cox and Yolanda Hadid have also all talked about having fillers dissolved or implants removed in recent months.
Emma Stone triumphed when she earned Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Poor Things and also led the film to top honors for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, as the succession nearly broke through, Oppenheimer also a big won and Barbie beat Taylor Swift in a new category at the 81st Golden Globes on Sunday.

Barbie won in a new category as the blockbuster triumphed in Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
It beat Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Accepting the honor on behalf of the cast and crew, Margot Robbie said: “Thank you.
