Users can even use it to have a nice conversation when their inbox is empty.

Sample prompts offered by Google include:

  • I haven’t contacted my boyfriend in a while. Help me compose a short message to check in and reconnect.
  • Suggest a three-course dinner menu that is impressive but manageable for a novice chef. Dietary restriction: vegetarian.
  • I’m going to a social event where I hardly know anyone. Think of some interesting conversation starters.

In addition to asking and answering questions, Gemini can also be used in Gmail, Drive, Docs, Maps, Flights, Hotels and YouTube.

A leak in late January suggested that Gemini in Google Messages will one day offer image identification and generation.

However, Google has partially retired Gemini’s public image generation capabilities due to issues with producing historically accurate images.

The issue prompted comments from billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk on Twitter, where he accused the photo generator of being “insane” and “racist.”

“I’m glad Google overplayed their hand at AI image generation because it made their insane racist, anti-civilization programming clear to all,” Musk wrote in one of the to inform.

This followed several claims that Gemini would refuse to make images of white people.

Jack Krawczyk of Gemini Experiences said: “Gemini’s AI image generation generates a wide range of people – which is generally a good thing because people all over the world use it.

‘But this misses the mark.

“We are working to improve these types of images immediately.”
