HBSE date sheet 2024: Haryana class 10th, 12th board exams twice a year? Here’s what we know so far

Haryana Board Exams 2024: Under the New Curriculum Framework (NCF), announced by the Ministry of Education in August, examinations will be held at least twice a year to ensure students have sufficient time and opportunities to perform well. They also get the opportunity to maintain the best score. Following the pattern, the Haryana board will also hold two sets of exams for Haryana HBSE 10th and 12th students, according to the TimesNow report. In simple words, the Haryana HBSE 10th and 12th exams are now held twice a year.

This strategic move is aimed at reducing student dropout. The Haryana Board of School Education has taken the important decision to conduct the HBSE 10th and 12th exams biannually. Students who pass the exam on the first attempt are not required to sit on the second attempt. Nevertheless, they have the option to retake the exam if they want to improve their scores.

When drawing up the mark sheets and the results, the board takes the higher score into account. In this exam, which is conducted in 6 months, the student appears for the entire syllabus. The board expects that this initiative will give students two chances to pass the exam within a year, instead of just one. There will be no changes in the syllabus or question paper blueprint. Students will have three chances to pass the exam, scheduled for July, September and March. If a student fails the compartment exam, he/she must take the exam through the open school system.

The Board of School Education Haryana, Bhiwani came into existence in 1969 under Haryana Act No. 11 of 1969, with its headquarters at Chandigarh and later shifted to Bhiwani in January 1981. The Board started with a staff of 100 officials assigned to the Punjab University, Chandigarh. and conducted the first exam of entrance level (10th class) in 1970. Candidates are allowed to appear for the exam on presentation of a valid admit card with a scanned photograph.
