Police said the group had stopped to take photos using the tripod when it slid down a slope.

But the woman accidentally fell and dropped her tripod 30 feet down the slope while trying to get it back.

Three off-duty doctors who were nearby at the time tried to save her Courier mail reported.

An official said: “Her friends shouted her name but she did not respond.”

Rescue services were quickly called to the scene, but the woman was already dead.

It took emergency services six hours to recover the woman’s body.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said crews worked through the night to retrieve the body.

“It took some time for crews to locate the woman, design and conduct a risk assessment,” the spokesperson said.
