Horror moment: Two devilish dogs 'tear chunks' out of a man sitting in a wheelchair as shocked drivers honk to stop them

THIS is the horrifying moment you can see two devilish dogs tearing 'chunks' out of a helpless wheelchair-bound man.

The two beasts were filmed mauling the defenseless disabled man after knocking him out of his wheelchair and attacking him on the ground.

Worried neighbors and petrified drivers tried to help the car stop bloodthirsty dogs but in the end the man was left seriously injured.

The distressed man – identified as Smokie – was airlifted to the island Hopital with a bloodied face and dismembered arms after the brutal attack in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Smokie was dragged from his wheelchair and thrown onto the path, but was unable to escape from under his collapsed wheelchair.

The two dogs then take turns biting the helpless man while his wheel spins and his legs and arms are thrown around by the dogs.

In the chilling video, stunned onlookers can be heard shouting and honking loudly in an attempt to distract the dogs, while someone even drove onto the path in a large truck to chase them away.

A neighbor said he saw the dogs “getting chunks from the man” in the gruesome scenes and felt helpless as he watched.

The pair of devilish dogs, named Jumpety and Boo-boo, escaped from a backyard before committing the vicious attack.

The dogs were cared for by a couple of neighbors after their owner recently went to jail.

Photos taken after the brutal mauling show Boo-boo's mouth smeared with his victim's blood.

One shocked onlooker said: “Everyone gathered, you know 20 to 30 people, threw things and it worked for a while.

'But then they just kept going. The man was cut off and you know his face was red.”

The footage also shows two other dogs barking wildly and jumping up and down from behind a fence as they watch horror show unfold.

Once safely at Jackson South Medical Center, Smokie was forced to undergo surgery due to the severe injuries to his arms caused by the dogs.

Locals say Smokie is homeless, but well known in the friendly neighborhood of Florida.

His friend John Oz said: “Smokie is an excellent guy. You know he's homeless, but he has people supporting him.

“I know he's had a few operations to repair his arm. He's a really good guy and it's a shame he was bitten by dogs that should never have attacked him.”

Both animals were reportedly well known to neighbors, with one normally calling brown dog Boo-boo “peaceful.”

Another neighbor told me local10 that the black dog has a chilling past: “Jumpety, he can literally jump over the fence. I was amazed and surprised by that, I think he is very dangerous because he has attacked another before.

“He probably attacked because he was hungry and scared.”

The two animals were seized by Miami-Dade County Animal Services officers and taken away while local authorities debated whether to put them down after the attack.

An animal services spokesperson said, “If these dogs are determined to pose a public safety concern, the department would humanely euthanize the dogs in accordance with Chapter 5 of the Miami-Dade County Code.”

According to the American Veterinary Association, approximately 800,000 people in the US are tragically sent to the hospital with injuries from dog attacks.

Because Pit Bulls are the breed more responsible for seizures than any other breed.

They are also more likely to kill their victims, as they are responsible for 28 percent of deaths over a 20-year period, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This latest dog attack comes after a A 2-year-old boy was attacked by a dog who was persistent in his pursuit of the young child.

A video reveals the screams of both the child and his mother as she fights off the animal.

Chante Wright-Haywood came to her son's aid when she managed to drag him away from the beast.

But the dog still chased them and shattered a plant pot before snapping at Wright-Haywood and snatching her coffee.
