PEOPLE were skeptical when developers announced that the Final Fantasy Remake would be split into three parts.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is significantly bigger than Remake, and you’ll spend a lot more time working through the main story.

This is because Rebirth introduces the game’s open world, with plenty more for you to explore.

If you want to know exactly what you’re signing up for, here’s the list of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth chapters and how long they will take to complete.

How long does it take to beat FF7 Rebirth?

As with all RPGs, the time it takes you to beat FF7 Rebirth depends entirely on your playstyle.

If you just want to experience the main story without the optional battles, then it should take you around 40 – 50 hours complete.

However, there is a lot of side content, including World Intel, that you can complete, and this will extend your playing time immensely.

These are the times we estimate based on your playing style.

  • Main story: 50+ hours
  • Completion of World Intel: 70+ hours
  • 100% completion: 150+ hours

This is a huge increase over the FF7 Remake, which took around 30 hours for the main story and 50 hours for the completionist.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth chapter list

There are 14 chapters in FF7 Rebirth, four fewer than Remake. Here’s the full list:

  • Chapter 1 – Fall of a hero
  • Chapter 2 – A new journey begins
  • Chapter 3 -Deeper into the darkness
  • Chapter 4 – Dawn of a new era
  • chapter 5 – Blood in the water
  • Chapter 6 – The fool’s paradise
  • chapter 7 – Those who are left behind
  • Chapter 8 – Anything that glitters
  • Chapter 9 – The planet is sinning
  • Chapter 10 – Guardian of the Valley
  • Chapter 11 – Shinra’s long shadow
  • Chapter 12 – A golden key
  • Chapter 13 – Where angels fear to come
  • Chapter 14 – End of the world

Remake’s chapters were only about 30 minutes to 2 hours, but Rebirth’s are much longer due to the open-world style.

After you complete the main story, you can go back and select an individual chapter to return to.

So don’t worry about missing anything because everything can be put back once you see the ending.
