A mother had a glass bottle smashed into her face in a shock attack on a night out.

Natalie Arthurs, 36, was hospitalized for three days with a “horror movie-like” deep gash on her cheek and shoulder after the attack in a Swansea bar.

The Army reservist was out with friends at Peppermint when Emily Williams, 25, flew into a rage – Accusing Natalie of spilling her sister’s glass of wine.

Williams then began her frenzied attack after Natalie had gone to the toilets to touch up her lipstick, leaving the helpless woman with “flesh hanging from my face and nose”.

Attacker Williams followed mother-of-one Natalie before smashing the bottle she was drinking from used it as a weapon.

Natalie, who felt like Williams was “trying to kill me”, was left with a 6-inch cut on her shoulder, a 3-inch cut on her cheek and wounds to her nose and neck.

Natalie told the court: ‘I was putting on lipstick in the mirror when I heard a voice with an angry tone shouting something like: ‘Who do you think you are?’

“I heard a glass break and I turned around and saw a woman with blonde hair and a glass in her hand.

“I saw the glass coming towards my face. It all happened so quickly. I felt something cold cut into my face. I knew it was bad.

“I felt like someone was trying to kill me. There was such a sense of rage and anger in the person who did this.

“I remember looking in the mirror on the wall while we were wrestling and seeing flesh hanging from my face and nose.

“There was blood everywhere, like a scene from a horror movie.”

Natalie added: “It was a random, unprovoked attack carried out for no reason. This has changed my outlook on life.

“The memory of the attack is vividly etched in my memory.

“It was a scene from a horror movie. All I could think about was how scared my little girl would be.

“I spent three painful days in the hospital. The pain was unbearable.

“Every aspect of my life became demoralizing and unbearable. Fifteen months after the attack, I am still learning to live with what happened.”

Natalie has since had to leave her job after struggling with overwhelming problems anxiety and panic attacks.

Right Huw Rees said Williams “became increasingly angry” and smashed the glass cup she was holding on the sink before attacking Natalie.

Sentencing, Judge Rees said: ‘What you did to someone who was a complete stranger and to someone you had had no prior argument with was evil.

‘Unbelievably bad.

“The effect of what you have done is clearly visible to everyone.”

He also said Williams’ account to police and the jury was “completely fabricated.”

Mother-of-two Williams was found guilty of wounding with intent.

She was was sentenced to five years in prison for the horrific attack, which took place in November 2022, and was also granted a ten-year restraining order against Natalie.
