From Campbell’s soup to Caramac and Lilt: the iconic foods that are disappearing from supermarket shelves

We checked all the major supermarkets and couldn’t find Del Monte’s range of juices anywhere else online.

However, we did look at other 1.5 liter juices to see how the price compares.

Asda has the Don Simon brand pineapple and coconut juice (1.5 litres) for £1, which is the same price as the Del Monte juice drinks.

There were also other flavors in the range, such as pineapple and guava and the popular “blue colored” lemon and raspberry juice.

If you prefer the more traditional juices such as orange and apple juice, Sainsbury’s has matched the Aldi price to its pure, smooth orange and apple juice and currently costs 99p for a 1 liter box.

At a time when the cost of living When everyone is tightening their belts, it always feels good to get a cheap deal or special offer.

Supermarket shelves have been filled with Valentine’s Day gifts and treats lately, and it’s after festivities like this that you can get lucky and score a good deal.

Typically, retailers want to clear out stock they haven’t sold, such as gifts, chocolate and cards, especially if it’s something edible and has an expiration date, so keep your eyes peeled.

Another good way to score a bargain is to check out the yellow stickered section in your local supermarket.

Most retailers have a special area for discounted items so they aren’t hard to find.

However, all supermarkets mark their items at different times, some do this early in the morning and others in the mid-afternoon, so it’s best to check with your local supermarket so you don’t miss anything.

One customer was particularly lucky at Tesco recently and managed to grab a few tea bags from the discounted aisle, which were selling for just 1p each.

It’s not just food items where you can pick up a bargain, one shopper managed to get a great deal on an air fryer selling for less than half the price.

How to save on your supermarket shopping

There are plenty of ways to save money at your grocery store.

You can look for yellow or red stickers on products, which indicate when they are discounted.

If the food is fresh, eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money because you’ll be less likely to make hasty purchases when you go to the grocery store.

Choosing your own brand can be an easy way to save hundreds of dollars a year on your food bill, too.

This means ditching the ‘best’ or ‘luxury’ products and instead opting for ‘own’ or value-for-money lines.

Many supermarkets have shaky fruit and vegetable programs where you can get cheap prices if they are misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering 5kg boxes of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you could potentially get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers, which you can also use at the supermarket.

In addition, many municipalities offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
