IKEA has launched a huge sale with prices starting from just 25 cents, but you might not know there’s a “secret place” where discounts are always on offer.

The retailer has slashed prices on more than 500 products and we’ve seen discounts of up to 70% on a range of homewares.

We also show how you can get big discounts by going to a specific area in your local Ikea store.

Shoppers can buy a set of two doorknobs for £1 instead of £3.50 in Ikea’s sale – a 72% discount – and an artificial potted plant for £3, instead of £5 – that’s 40% off.

Meanwhile, the home of iconic Swedish meatballs has reduced the price of one of its 50-hour scented candles from £3 to £1.

If you are looking for a plant pot, you can also buy one from €1 and from €2.

There’s also a tap with strainer selling for £80 (from £100), a soft toy dinosaur for the little ones for £9 down from £15, and a three-seater sofa reduced from £479 to £449 .

In addition, customers can buy a bed and sofa throw for £6, down from £12.

Here are some of the best items we’ve seen that might be worth picking up or having delivered.

Don’t forget that you can find your nearest Ikea branch by using the retailer’s store locator on its website.

Additionally, make sure you shop around before buying something that you think is a great bargain, as you may be able to get something similar for less elsewhere.

You can use price comparison websites like Trolley and Price Spy to check the prices of thousands of products.

Google Shopping/Product is useful for doing a quick scan of the internet to see how much other retailers are selling a specific item for.

If you buy something from Ikea, also consider whether it is cheaper to collect it from the nearest branch than to have it delivered.

How else can you save money at Ikea?

If you miss out on the Ikea sale, fear not, as there are other ways to save money at the retailer.

The Sun previously spoke to retail expert Andrew Busby who said the ‘Circular Hub’ is definitely worth a visit at your local branch.

They can be found in all stores, usually near the checkouts, and offer customers ex-display and slightly damaged items at low prices.

Online shoppers have previously found blinds for £3.20 instead of £5 and coffee tables for £60 instead of £200.

One of them even received a set of six door curtains for €1.29 each instead of €69 – a whopping 98% discount.

Of course, you don’t always get such big discounts as Ikea lowers prices on a case-by-case basis and how worn and torn an item is.

The Circular Hub isn’t just in store either: you can search for items online and reserve them for collection at your nearest branch.

Andrew also recommended signing up for the ‘no-brainer’ Ikea Family Card, the retailer’s loyalty programme.

Under the free-to-join program, customers get access to the Circular Hub and exclusive discounts.

We previously found a Tarno table and chair set for £54.50 instead of £109 for loyalty customers – a 50% discount.

Meanwhile, shoppers can currently buy shower curtains at 15% off if they’ve signed up.

You can sign up on Ikea’s website and register for a digital card for your smartphone wallet.
