Residents of Podolsk, Russia, were startled by the strange sparks of colored light that had nothing to do with it Ukrainian drone or rocket strikesaccording to reports.

The people in Podolsk said the glow appeared “acid green” or “yellow-green” in the sky when they looked up and “saw an unusual phenomenon in the sky.”

Similar reports emerged on Monday 29 in Chelyabinsk, after the head of the regional public chamber Nikolai Deineko reported the lights.

Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry is currently investigating the flashes to try to determine what caused them.

A ministry report said: “What it was is a mystery.”

Local media Tsargrad wrote in their coverage of the bizarre incident in Podolsk: “Residents observed a mysterious green flash early in the morning in Podolsk near Moscow.

The mysterious phenomenon has seriously alarmed and frightened some local residents – something like this had never happened here before

“Based on the response, the mysterious phenomenon has seriously alarmed and frightened some local residents – nothing like this has ever happened here before.”

Chelyabinsk and Podolsk are both connected by a secret Russian defense plants located in the two cities.

Posting a video of the lights, Deineko said: “An unusual glow has just occurred in the northwest direction of Chelyabinsk. The flashes in the sky were spotted around 6:10 PM to 6:15 PM.

“I saw several bright flashes with a turquoise hue from the direction of the villages of Shagol and Krasnoe Pole. I was near the… skating arena. It was as bright as if lightning.”

But the two cities are 1,100 miles (1,850 kilometers) apart and in two time gaps, continuing the mystery of where the lights come from.

Locals who saw the crazy light show came up with their own bizarre explanations for the strange sightings.

A commentator in Podolsk named Aleksey said: “This is a new type of American weapon.”

Another thought: “Aliens have finally started to arrive and will set people straight.

And in Chelyabinsk someone said: “The war between the worlds and the alien invasion have begun.”

As others thought meteorites had arrived Soil.

But there may be a more logical reason behind the sparks.

Authorities in Chelyabinsk claimed their flashes were caused by a “short circuit” in a current facility of the Rosseti Ural electricity company.

The company said: “Residents of three settlements are still without electricity.”

However, in Podolsk it was reported that an explosion at an electricity substation in Shcherbinka caused the hair-raising event, despite the station being eight kilometers away from the city.

Russia has seen a large number of explosions and short circuits at power plants in recent weeks, especially at substations.

Earlier in January, another explosion in Podolsk was blamed on one of the city's main Russian bullet factories.

This left tens of thousands of local residents freezing in sub-zero temperatures as they were left without heating and hot water for hours.

But it's not just a lack of heating and bright flashes of light that have been plaguing Russia lately The largest tigers in the world have also been seen roaming around the country.

Reports suggest that the beats were unleashed on the Russian people and their pets because they killed villagers and left trails of blood in the snow.

A man and his dog were killed by a tiger in the Far East Russia amid a wave of bloody clashes that left people fearing for their lives.
