Karmma Calling Trailer: Raveena is 90s Bollywood queen turned ‘Alibaug ki Rajmata’ in this thriller

Disney+Hotstar releases the trailer of its new series starring Raveena Tandon. Titled ‘Karma Calling’, the show features the actor playing a former Bollywood diva who is ruling the roost in Alibaug today.

Mumbai: Raveena Tandon is starting the new year on an exciting note with her web series titled ‘Karma Calling’. The makers of the show on Tuesday unveiled the trailer, which gives a fantastic glimpse into the life of Indrani Kothari, a former Bollywood actor who is now known as ‘Alibaug ki Rajmata’. Disney+Hotstar Series Features Raveena as a glamorous and powerful woman in the city who would do anything to protect her family, especially her son, played by Varun Sood.

Produced by RAT Films, the show is an official Hindi remake of the American series ‘Revenge’. Directed by Ruchi Narain, the film also features Namrata Sheth, Gaurav Sharma, Waluscha D’souza, Amy Aela, Viraf Patel and Piyush Khati in important roles. Karmma calls provides a glimpse into the world of wealth, where there is always something more than what meets the eye. It is also a story of Indrani versus Karma (played by Nishtha) amid their dark past, dual personalities, power centers and elite clubs.

This is the first time that Raveena is playing an actor on screen. The actor is excited to be a part of the powerful series which is somewhat on the lines of Sushmita Sen’s Aarya.

Talking about her character at the trailer launch event, Raveena called her character both glamorous and powerful. Explaining the story, she said, “Playing Indrani Kothari has allowed me to explore a completely different aspect of myself as an actor. It’s unlike any character I’ve played before. I experiment with my characters. Indrani is powerful and stubborn and wants to maintain her position in the elite society. She has secrets to hide, but her life changes in many ways when Karma Talwar comes into the picture, but she is not a woman who gives in to her Karma so easily. Karmma calls is a story about the glamorous, powerful Indrani Kothari and the enigmatic Karma Talwar and it is sure to keep the Disney+ Hotstar audience hooked.”

Revenge, on which the series is based, aired from 2011-2015 and was produced by ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios. Hotstar specials’ Karmma calls will stream exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar from January 26, 2024! Your thoughts on the trailer?
