Most of us thought David Foster And Katharine McPheeHis child would be talented, but Rennie could be a musical prodigy at age 2.
Foster, 74, uploaded a video of Rennie playing a small drum kit on Friday, January 5. “❗️ Drumming in the new year ❗️#still2yearsold,” the music producer captioned the video via Instagram. Rennie wore a gray T-shirt, white diaper and protective headphones as he played an impressive song on the drums that seems well above beginner level.
McPhee, 39, opened up exclusively We weekly about her son’s talents in October after posting another video of the toddler playing the drums.
“I think for a long time we thought it was fun and interesting that he really loved the drums and seemed to have a talent for that, but he’s really gone to another level,” says the American Idol alum told Us. “And so now the text messages between me and my husband are changing. “This is really crazy, right?” The control, the obsession of the urge to play as much as he does all day long. I say, ‘Do you want to go to the park? Do you want to go somewhere, nice?’ Somewhere where every child would say, “Yes!” And he said, ‘I want to play my drums.’”
McPhee added, “She’s a great babysitter, I can tell you that. Serious. It’s just a noisy place.”
The singer, who married Foster in 2019, admitted she didn’t want to get too attached to the idea of Rennie being a drummer when he first showed signs of talent.
“I poo-pooed it for a long time, not thinking it was anything like what people said it was, but it seems like it’s something that’s really undeniable for him in his future,” says McPhee. added. “I don’t know if he can keep it up, but it’s pretty impressive, I’ll say.”
