Katherine Heigl and her husband of 16 years, musician Josh Kelley, are getting into the wellness business.

The couple, who live far from the lights of Hollywood in Utah, founded New Lane Mercantile because they: “envision a world where every purchase becomes a meaningful act of compassion and connection.”

The Grey’s Anatomy alum, 44, started the store as a way to sell her own original art and graphic designs to raise money for the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.

The foundation was founded by Heigl – who enjoyed a career resurgence at Firefly Lane – and her mother Nancy to “effect a change in the lives of our country’s abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals.

But now she has decided to expand her store’s offerings with her “passion for all things beautiful, healing, useful and inspiring.”

The website further describes Heigl’s intentions for this new venture.

‘New Lane Road Mercantile was born from my desire to make a difference while providing a shopping experience that inspires you to consciously create moments that matter while making a positive impact in the world while you do.’

Katherine was inspired to start the store from the mountains of Utah where she lives.

“For the past fifteen years I have had the privilege of calling the mountains of Utah home, and through my experiences here I have found a certain peaceful presence that I am determined to share,” she wrote on the website.

‘The products curated for New Lane Road Mercantile are designed to do just that by engaging all your senses and inspiring you to create moments of peace and joy every day.’

The website offers a range of crystals, homewares, fragrances, skin care and knitted hats and socks.

Josh’s shop sells a range of leather goods and whiskey sets at reasonable prices.

His store also offers high-quality hats that sell for $500 to $600.
