Air India flight from Delhi to Kolkata delayed due to ‘unavailability of pilots’, passengers stranded at IGI Airport
The flight was scheduled to depart from Delhi at 9 PM IST.
New Delhi: Several passengers were stranded at Indira Gandhi Airport (IGI) when an Air India flight to Kolkata from Delhi was delayed for several hours. The Air India flight AI 762 was scheduled to depart from Delhi to Kolkata at 9pm IST on Wednesday.
However, the flight was delayed due to the “unavailability of pilots” and several passengers, including senior citizens, were stranded at the airport.
Passengers say they received a text message at 7 p.m. that the flight will be delayed for more than two hours. The message stated that the boarding time had been adjusted to 11 p.m.

“This is total mismanagement by Air India. It was not expected from such a prestigious airline that has served for so many decades. In addition, Air India officials do not have the simple courtesy to provide food to passengers,” said one of the passengers on the flight, who declined to be named.
AI 762 – This @airindia The flight on the Delhi-Kolkata route was scheduled to depart from IGI International Airport at 9:00 PM IST on July 5, 2023. First they postpone the flight for 2 hours and then another 1 hour because one of the co-pilots didn’t arrive even after being 3 hours late. Disappointing 😊

According to the Air India officials, the cabin crew for this flight has been diverted to another flight and they do not know when the flight will depart. There are many senior citizens and a child is now unwell from suffocation.
As of now, the flight is yet to take off as several passengers complained that Air India officials have not responded to their queries.
