As founder of Skin Doctor Clinics in TeoxaneSaleena Zimri knows a thing or two about cosmetic procedures.

And when we think of the Kar-Jenners, there's someone who has been the source of these rumors for years: Kylie Jenner.

Doctor Zimri said the 26-year-old mogul had to be careful with her choice of injections and warned those interested.

“Kylie Jenner appears to have had filler under the eyes, which is visible in the skin volume.”

She revealed the potential problems this could bring.

“The tear trough is an area with very little fat and therefore very thin, which becomes more apparent as we age and the hyaluronic acid and collagen decrease.”

To maintain a sophisticated look, don't overdo it in that area.

“You must be extremely conservative with fillers in this area to avoid overfilling or using a non-eye specific filler to treat this area, which can lead to a puffy, lumpy appearance.”

She explained that because filler attracts water, if injected too superficially it can cause water retention – and this can lead to the opposite of the desired effect: you'll look tired instead.

Still, she said there are some people who are good candidates for the treatment — namely people with real under-eye hollows and circles, and people with good skin quality.

Bad candidates? Those with “excessive laxity under the eyes” or those interested in treating hyperpigmentation or large bags under the eyes.

“The purpose of under-eye filler for the tear trough is to address hollow or sunken areas, reducing the appearance of dark circles and bags,” she noted, adding that it adds volume and a smooth transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.

“This helps reduce the tired or aged appearance, creating a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.”

If you seem like the right person, she noted that under-eye filler for the tear trough is “generally safe” when administered by qualified professionals.

“However, as with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential risks and side effects.

“These can include bruising, swelling, lumps and infections, and rarely more serious problems such as blocking a blood vessel and causing tissue death or even blindness.”

She said to look for a good quality filler that is lightweight and has a low risk of swelling.

“Personally, I prefer Teoxane Redensity 2 as it is the only filler on the market specifically designed to treat the difficult and sensitive area around the eyes, with results lasting on average between 12 and 18 months.”
