She was labeled 'jealous and unhinged' because of her bridesmaid dress.

But this bestie was no friend. She had set her up and all hell was unleashed.

The beleaguered woman took over the whole sad story Reddit for some clarity and reassurance.

She felt attacked from all sides and was still suffering from the consequences of the whole affair.

“Am I the asshole if I wear a white dress to a wedding after the bride specifically requests it?” she asked.

Her post certainly piqued the interests of Redditors, with more than 12,000 people replying to her post and another 2,500 commenting.

She explained the background to the wedding dress drama.

The pair were childhood friends. Their lives had gone in different directions, but they remained close.

She even introduced her to her new husband – he had been an old boyfriend.

“I assured her there was absolutely nothing romantic. I was glad she was happy,” she said.

When the couple got engaged, she fully expected to be her maid of honor, but the invitation never came.

It was a shock to discover that there were no plans for her to attend the wedding. Instead, a cousin was appointed bridesmaid.

“I was quite hurt by this. I was her best and oldest friend. I introduced her to her fiancé and was friends with him too.”

She wasn't even invited to the engagement party. “That hurt too, but I didn't say anything,” she said.

But to her delight, she got the call six weeks before the wedding.

One of the bridesmaids had lost weight and she was asked to intervene. She was delighted.

“I was relieved and immediately accepted,” she said.

“She told me she was creating a reverse color palette for the bridal party, where all the bridesmaids and groomsmen wore white, and she and the groom wore black.

“I already had a white slip dress that would work and sent her a picture of it and she verbally approved it,” she wrote.

But on the wedding day it became clear that something was wrong: she was overworked.

“When I walked into the room, each bridesmaid was wearing a blue dress. I was the only one in white. My stomach dropped.'

She was enemy number one, despite her efforts to defend herself.

“The cousin started yelling at me, saying I was jealous, in love with the groom and how completely out of control I was,” she said.

But worse was to come from the bride, who said: 'I think we both know this is the end of our friendship. I've given you too many chances. It's time for you to go.'

She struggles to recover from the betrayal and humiliation.

“My reputation is destroyed. My life is in tatters. I don't think I'm the asshole, but I subject myself to Reddit's judgment,” she said.

Commenters were shocked by her treatment and offered her some comfort.

“Wtf. She's a psychopath. She literally tries to make you look bad for no reason other than her pleasure,” one person said.

“This sounds like the plot of a soap opera. You're clearly not the asshole,” a second person said.

“She's fucking crazy, right? Because this is pants-on-head crazy,” said another Redditor.

“You didn't do anything wrong. Your life isn't ruined and neither is your reputation. Karma will bite her in the a** real quick,” one commenter wrote.
