Madhya Pradesh Elections: Prime Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday launched another stinging attack on his arch-rival Kamal Nath, calling the Congress veteran an ‘outsider’ to the state who cannot be trusted. Changing a line from a popular Hindi song, Chouhan sang, “Ye toh thehre pardesi, sath kya nibhayenge (he is a stranger, will not stay with us)”, while referring to Nath and the former chief minister’s loyalty questioned the state…

Speaking at a poll rally in Bhopal district’s Berasia assembly seat, Chouhan alleged that the Opposition Congress would create confusion and make false promises. He warned people not to make the ‘mistake’ of trusting the old party.

“They will not keep their promises because they have nothing to do with the people. Anyway, Kamal Nath Bhaiya is not from Madhya Pradesh. We were born here. Where was he (Nath) born, tell me,” he asked.

The chief minister alleged that state Congress chief Kamal Nath cannot be trusted as he was not born in Madhya Pradesh and thus his loyalty lies elsewhere.

He said when Nath was the chief minister, he often lamented over shortage of funds for development work.

“I say there is no shortage of money in my side for development works,” Chouhan said, assuring people that he would carry out all the works.

Chouhan also addressed rallies in Khurai assembly seat of Sagar district, Sarangpur of Rajgarh district and Kukshi of Dhar district to canvass for BJP candidates.

Chouhan can pursue an acting career in Mumbai after losing the Assembly elections: Nath

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Kamal Nath, in a scathing attack on Shivraj Chouhan, expressed confidence that the incumbent Chief Minister’s days are numbered. However, the BJP leader will not be jobless if he is removed from power as he can pursue an acting career in Mumbai because “he is a very good actor”.

“Shivraj Singh Chouhan will no longer be the chief minister in a few days, but he will not become jobless. He is a very good actor. He will go to Mumbai and pursue acting and make Madhya Pradesh proud,” Kamal Nath said while campaigning in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh.

Kamal Nath sharpened his attack on the chief minister and said, “Today our youth are unemployed; our farmers have no work. Shivraj Singh, what are you worth? Please tell people.”

Kamal Nath expressed confidence that the Congress government will come to power in Madhya Pradesh and topple the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government.

“I am campaigning everywhere and the people of Madhya Pradesh will vote the Bharatiya Janata Party government out of power,” he said.

The former prime minister asked voters to vote for the ‘truth’ and not for him or the Congress party in the elections.

“This is not the time for slavery or lies. A new era is about to dawn in Madhya Pradesh. On November 17, don’t vote for Kamal Nath or the Congress, but vote for the truth. This will secure the future of Madhya Pradesh and our youth,” he said.

Madhya Pradesh will face elections in a single phase on November 17 and counting of votes will take place on December 3. Voters will elect lawmakers from 230 Assembly constituencies.
