Madonna hospitalized after ‘serious bacterial infection’

Madonna was hospitalized over the weekend after a health scare and remains in ICU, Us weekly can confirm.

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna contracted a serious bacterial infection that led to a stay in ICU for several days,” said the singer’s longtime manager. Dude Oseary, confirmed via Instagram on Wednesday, June 28.

Page sixmeanwhile reported that the musician was initially unresponsive, which led to her being rushed to hospital.

Oseary told followers on Wednesday that Madonna’s “health is improving, but she is still under medical care.” He noted that “a full recovery is expected.”

The statement continued: “At this time we will have to pause all commitments, including the tour. We will share more details with you as we get them, including a new tour start date and rescheduled shows.”
