New Delhi: Maia Bouchier and Danielle Gibson have secured their first central contracts, while Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer have been handed development contracts after breaking into the senior set-up earlier this year, as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the England Women Central Contracts for 2023 . /24.

Eighteen contracts, lasting one year, have been awarded to Maia Bouchier and Danielle Gibson, given their first England Women Central Contracts.

The others awarded Central Contracts include England Women regulars Heather Knight, Sophia Dunkley, Charlie Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Amy Jones, Tammy Beaumont, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Issy Wong and Danni Wyatt.

Bowlers Mahika Gaur and Lauren Filer and wicketkeeper-batsman Bess Heath have all been given development contracts after breaking into the senior set-up in 2023.

These development contracts will be awarded to the players who the England Women’s management team believes will play a vital role for the team in the future and enable the ECB to further support them over the next twelve months.

All contracts run until October 31, 2024 and provide significant structural improvements to meet player needs.

Working closely with the England Women’s Player Partnership and the PCA, pay improvements include improving entitlement to family benefits, a bonus structure that rewards success against higher-ranked opposition, increases in the value of commissions and the equalization of match fees with English men.

Director of England Women’s Cricket Jonathan Finch said: “Maia Bouchier and Danielle Gibson have been part of our group this summer, have performed well and will be key players for England in the future.”

He described the introduction of development contracts as an important step for them.

“The introduction of development contracts is an important step for us and allows us to support a broader group of players in their continued development. We will work closely with the regions to manage player development and workload.”

England face a number of tough assignments, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup later this year.

“After a record-breaking summer of Ashes, we have an exciting twelve months of cricket ahead of us and we believe this group of players will form the foundation of our squad that will take us through several bilateral series and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Finch was quoted in a statement Monday.
