MAIDSTONE took part in an unusual pre-match routine ahead of their FA Cup fifth round tie.

And before kick-off, the Maidstone players and coaching staff were captured on ITV cameras taking a lap of honor around the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The gesture is normally reserved for after a match.

Regardless, the Stones received a loud ovation from their traveling support as they passed by during the round.

An estimated 5,000 fans were expected to be in Maidstone for the match on Monday evening.

And fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were also in a supportive mood the FA Cup underdogs.

Maidstone captured the imagination of football fans around the world, with Cameroon World Cup icon Roger Milla sending a message of support to compatriot and Stones boss George Elokobi.
