The 1-0 win will see United go head-to-head with fierce rivals Liverpool for a place at Wembley.

And their lack of momentum in attack left Shearer feeling frustrated in the commentary box.

The former England star criticized Marcus Rashford for his body language and effort up front.

After the match, Shearer stated that the result really mattered to United after such a poor performance.

Yet fans were drawn to the Newcastle icon who referred to United as ‘we’ in his post-match comments.

Shearer revealed yesterday that he has no regrets about turning down the Red Devils twice as a player.

And supporters couldn’t believe what he said about United after the final whistle.

Shearer said: “It’s not about how well we played, it’s about how we get to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and they did that.

“Their name is in the hat, the performance wasn’t great, they had to stick with it, it lacked quality at times.

“But Bruno Fernandes delivered the ball and Casemiro finished, and so they are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Another blasted: “Alan Shearer says ‘we’?”

One commented: “Shearer just called United ‘us’, keep it up boy.”

Another added: “How many times did Shearer say ‘we’, referring to United?”
