The new selection in their popular range has been appropriately named The Great Egg-scape for Easter.

It includes cute new characters, a soft yellow chick with a red rubber belly and two pigs with green and orange bellies.

But hungry shoppers should keep an eye out for one more special figure before scoffing the whole lot.

There’s a green chick in select packs, and the lucky customer who finds it will receive an eye-watering £5,000.

The post, shared on Facebook by M&S, has already been viewed 29,000 times.

Excited fans cheered on the delicious goodie, with one writing: “I need to buy some for the Easter Bunny jar.”

“I love Percy Pig sweets,” said another.

“We need some,” someone else begged.

A fourth agreed: “I can’t wait to try this new version.”

One fan joked: “My son just ate a bag, we didn’t know about the green chick, hopefully we didn’t have one.”

An excited shopper asked his friend: “Are we going somewhere near an M&S tomorrow.”

“We have some, they’re tasty,” boasted one impressed customer.

The industry giant has also started stocking mini bags called Piglets, which come in packs of 10.

Each mini bag contains 96 calories per bag and of course the sweets, just like standard Percy Pigs, are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

It comes as Easter approaches and many supermarkets are offering the chance to win seasonal prizes.

Cadbury has launched a new competition where chocoholics can scoop an ‘ultimate’ egg worth £12 for free.

Fans have the chance to scoop a Mini Eggs treat, a Crunchie Egg, a Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut or a Dairy Milk white chocolate egg.

Also up for grabs are Dairy Milk Nibbles, Freddo Faces, White Chocolate Buttons and Milk Chocolate Buttons.

These come with cute penguin and monkey faces on the iconic purple packaging, perfect for little ones.

To enter, visit the Cadbury Gifts website and click on the Cadbury Competition 2024 section.

All you have to do is answer ‘true’ or ‘false’ to a statement that reads: “The very first Easter Egg was invested in Britain.”

Shoppers can also purchase the Cadbury Easter Bundle 2024 for free using a Quidco promotional code.

Customers can sign up for a free £15 Quidco bonus to cover the price of the family Easter egg selection.

The popular money-saving site is offering the deal to all new Quidco customers who spend £5 or more.

The History of Percy Pig

PERCY Pig first appeared on M&S shelves in 1992.

The pig-shaped sweets were originally available in strawberry, blackcurrant and raspberry flavors.

Since then, Percy has been joined by many friends, including a Candice Cow cola and Sharon Sheep with orange and strawberry.

In 2013, at the age of 21, he found love with Penny.

On his website, Percy describes Penny as the “sweetest lemon and vanilla flavored pig.”

After Percy and Penny got together, Percy piglets started appearing.

Timmy Tiger with mango flavor and Poppy Panda with blackcurrant flavor were added to the range in 2014.

As of 2022, all Percy Pigs are vegan friendly as M&S ditches gelatin.

You can even buy Percy smoothies, cookies and baskets.

In addition to food, Percy has also specialized in kitchen accessories, bedding, clothing and even neon lights and nail polish.

And if you just can’t decide, there’s always a Percy gift voucher to enjoy all things piggy.
