Marrickville barbershop shooting: Two men linked to Bandidos biker gang, NSW police allege

Two men shot in a brutal daylight attack at a hair salon in inner west Sydney have links to organized crime, it has been revealed.

Emergency services were called to Adel’s Salon on Marrickville Road in Marrickville at about 1:50pm Friday, following reports that a man in black calmly walked into the salon and opened fire.

The two men shot – a 33-year-old man and a 20-year-old man – are linked to the Bandidos biker gang, police sources said. ABC.

According to the source, police are still investigating the motive for the shooting, but it is believed to be a targeted attack.

The pair were there to get their hair cut and Daily Mail Australia has been told they were regulars at Adel’s.

The 20-year-old remains in a serious condition, while the other man is in a stable condition, having both been rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Shocking footage from the scene shows a shirtless man lying on the floor as a police officer gives him first aid.

Another officer also tried to calm down a second man in the salon.

Former NSW police officer Peter Moroney said the perpetrators attempted to “mistreat” one or two of the witnesses who were filming the shocking incident.

“If you see crimes like this happening, when it’s a temptation to collect evidence, take care of yourself first instead of trying to get involved,” he told 9’s Today show Saturday morning.

He said he found the incident particularly shocking because it happened in broad daylight along a busy suburban shopping street and close to the suburb’s police station.

NSW Police Superintendent Despa Fitzgerald said police believe a silver Kia Stinger found in flames on Park Road in nearby Sydenham was used as a ‘getaway car’.

A few minutes later, a Mitsubishi Triton was also set on fire on Hercules Street in Dulwich Hill.

Police are also trying to track down a white Toyota Camry, with number plates DMM59H, which police suspect one of the gunmen got into after the incident.

Both victims are known to the police, but are not from the area.

“It’s very brutal and that’s why we think it was a targeted attack, it’s not random and it’s fortunate that no other member of the public was involved in that incident,” Superintendent Fitzgerald said.

A blood-soaked towel was also found at the scene as a shirtless man was carried away on a stretcher.

A crime scene has been identified and is being investigated by specialist forensic investigators.
