Matty Healy alludes to split from Taylor Swift on latest show

Taylor Swift’s rumored ex Matty Healy appeared to explain the couple’s split during his latest concert.

Swift, 33, and The 1975 rocker’s, 34, romance was revealed in May amid speculation they had been dating for weeks — but a friend close to the star confirmed Taylor was “single” again on Monday.

And now Healy – who was reportedly not exclusive to Swift – alluded to the breakup when he took the stage with his band on Monday, noting several signs of fans expressing their support and love for him.

“My friend had some really, really nice signs that said, ‘You are loved,'” he told the crowd while pointing to the fan in the crowd, as seen in a Twitter video. “That was very, very nice of you.”

“I’m sure that alludes to…” he began to say, before stopping. “As you know I’m not very online right now and I’m sure people have called me ruthless,” he joked.

“I haven’t been online, but what I’ve been with is my boys,” he continued.

“And honestly, as much as I appreciate that, it’s so beautiful, and I thank you. But I don’t need them, because I have them,” he concluded.

While Taylor hasn’t spoken about the breakup, she gave a very emotional performance at her show in Chicago this weekend and nearly burst into tears when her voice began to break during a piano version of “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” a emotional farewell song.

“Wondering if I dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life?” Swift sang as her mouth seemed to quiver with emotion.

It was revealed earlier today that Taylor and Matty were “never boyfriend and girlfriend” as the singer “sowed her oats” during the brief fling following her split from Joe Alwyn, according to new reports.

It was claimed that the romance was never as serious as many thought, that the pair were never even exclusive and that Taylor and Matty will be friends again – despite reports that they were ‘madly in love’ and planning to move in together.

A source told People: ‘She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer romantically involved.”

Another insider said, “They were never boyfriend-girlfriend or exclusive and were always just having fun. There is no drama, and who knows what could happen again. It was a good time and it ran its course.

“Taylor is doing great – her focus is now on her tour. Since Matty is also on tour, they won’t be able to see each other at all. They have been friends for years and decided to just become friends again. Nothing complicated happened. It’s just life.’

A third source said the pair “still care about each other” and are “still friends.”

Additional resources added Page six that Taylor is “blowing off steam” with the brief romance after her “suffocating” romance with Alwyn and that she “will not be writing albums” about Matty.

They said, “Everyone who really knows her has been saying all along that this was a fun, fun time that would last as long as it lasted and that it wouldn’t be a problem once it was done.”

“She won’t write albums about this. It was something for the summer. Does everyone have amnesia about Tom Hiddleston? Jesus Christ.’

“She gets to blow off some steam and then sow her oats without people claiming she’s head over heels first and then she’s breaking up with the guy. It’s not a break. It’s a natural evolution of a nice little thing whose moment has passed.’

She and Matty were last seen together on May 25 in New York City. The split also comes three days after Matty kissed a male security guard at a concert in Denmark.

The artist was initially linked to Swift after their first meeting, which took place in 2014.

Matty was publicly seen supporting the singer on her The Eras Tour, casting the star loving glances as he attended her concerts in Nashville.

The pair also made numerous appearances in NYC, leaving a recording studio and going out to dinner with her friends, Margaret Qualley, Phoebe Bridgers and Zoe Kravitz.

The rocker previously had relationships with singers Halsey and FKA Twigs, and he divorced the latter in 2022.

The Karma songwriter has been linked to numerous figures in the past and last April she ended her relationship with Alwyn, who she dated for six years.

Healy and Swift remained friends after their first meeting, with the former calling it quits on relationship rumors several times over the years.

However, the pair became the subject of attention after a source spoke to The Sun last month and confirmed that the pair had indeed been seeing each other. The insider told the media that the two were “extremely proud and excited about this relationship.”

The source also said the artists, who recently worked with Swift during the recording process of her recently released album Midnights, were “madly in love.”

It was reported late last May that Matty was preparing to move in with the Anti-Hero singer just weeks after their alleged romance flared up.

The Snow On The Beach singer has so far not commented on the rumored relationship or breakup.
