Mel B reveals the Spice Girls are supporting Geri ‘leaning on Victoria Beckham’ as husband Christian Horner faces accusations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ – despite not following the fashion designer

Mel B has revealed that the Spice Girls are supporting their bandmate Geri after her husband Christian Horner was accused of inappropriate behaviour.

Former racing driver Christian, 50, is currently under investigation over claims he sent ‘sexually suggestive’ text messages to a female employee of his Red Bull F1 team – allegations he has vehemently denied.

Geri, 51, is said to be ‘devastated’ by the scandal, with a source telling MailOnline that she had felt unable to get along with her bandmates – even going so far as to ban all Beckham’s on social media more followed.

She also dropped Red Bull star Max Verstappen, but later seemed to change her mind when she re-followed David, Victoria and Max some time later.

Now Mel B has insisted the girls have been in touch with Geri, and is leaning on Victoria for support, with Posh ‘supporting her in every way possible’.

Speak with The sun Scary Spice said on Saturday: ‘We have a WhatsApp group and we have been messaging.’

It was also revealed that Geri is ‘leaning on’ Victoria for support, as she previously helped the designer through her own marital problems.

A source said OK! Magazine: ‘They always got along well and were there for each other in the difficult times.

‘When Geri had a bit of a stormy relationship with some of the other Spice Girls, Victoria supported her and helped her through it. It’s the same now that Victoria wants to support Geri in any way she can.

‘Victoria and David have had some really low moments as a couple and Geri was there for her.’

MailOnline has contacted Geri’s representatives for comment.

It comes just days after Geri unfollowed her Spice Girls bandmate Victoria – and David and Brooklyn Beckham – as the fallout from the scandal turned toxic.

A source told MailOnline at the time: ‘There have been hundreds of arguments between Geri and Mel B over the years, not least when Mel mentioned that she and Geri had slept together a few years ago.

“But Geri has never had any problems with the Beckhams until now.”

They continued, “You get different stories from different people about what’s going on, but the bottom line is that she seems to be taking Christian’s problems very seriously.

“All the girls have contacted her, but she doesn’t feel like she can connect with them. She is devastated and it is possible she feels the Beckhams could have given her – and Christian – more public support.”

It signaled an extraordinary infighting, with F1 insiders saying the current allegations, involving alleged bullying and ‘inappropriate behaviour’ by a female colleague, appear to be part of a ‘power struggle’ within the team.

While Christian denies the claims, a Dutch newspaper, The Telegraph, claimed to have seen messages at the heart of the investigation, claiming they were ‘sexually oriented’.

When the news broke on February 6, all it said was that he had been accused of “incredibly controlling behavior” by a female colleague. He denied it completely and appeared relaxed at a media event when he said he had a ‘very supportive wife’ in former Spice Girl Geri, who stands by him.

Two weeks later, De Telegraaf reported that Horner had sent sex messages to the female employee ‘over an extended period’.

The source of the leak has caused a lot of commotion: Red Bull’s star driver, Max Verstappen, is Dutch, just like his influential father Jos.

It is perhaps a shame that Geri Verstappen ‘unfollowed’ on Instagram shortly after the De Telegraaf story appeared.

After the unfollowing became public, Geri quickly re-followed Verstappen, David and Victoria. It is not clear what the Beckhams did to be drawn into the scandal.

Geri’s publicist claimed — despite screenshots that appear to show the opposite — that it is “incorrect” to say Geri has unfollowed anyone.

A friend told the Mail: ‘Geri worked very hard to make that marriage happen – there’s no way she can let it go. She always said she was determined to find her prince, and she felt like she had done the same with Christian.”

She has built an idyllic country life with her husband and children on their Cotswolds estate.

But sources say Geri has been ‘flattened’ by the scandal – especially because the alleged recipient is a colleague she knew well – and by the nature of the messages.

A friend added this week: ‘Geri is devastated and has trouble eating and sleeping. Her family and fellow Spice Girls worry about her.

‘I hear Christian is trying to cheer her up to stay positive, but she’s hit the ground running like she did after she left the Spice Girls. She doesn’t talk to anyone.’

The source believes Geri may skip the trip to Bahrain for the Grand Prix because she cannot handle the criticism.

Christian declined to comment Thursday on the investigation into his own alleged “inappropriate behavior,” but said he hopes a resolution is reached as soon as possible.

Horner carried out his customary execution of his Red Bull team boss in Bahrain amid the investigation launched earlier this month.

At the press conference during F1 testing, Horner said he could not talk about the ongoing investigation because he was ‘part of it’, but said the ‘process was ongoing’.

Horner, who was reluctant to elaborate further, ended by saying he hoped a solution would be found as soon as possible.

The 50-year-old said: ‘There is a process underway and as I am part of it I cannot comment on it. We hope that a solution will be found as soon as possible.’

The allegations against Horner have overshadowed the run-up to the 2024 F1 season.

Horner emphatically denies the claims and his wife Geri, formerly Halliwell, supports him in his fight for his reputation.

Mail Sport understands a decision on the investigation could be made by the end of the week.
