Photos show how the camper has been converted into a comfortable sleeping space, with the interior gutted to make room for a double mattress.

Airbnb guests can access the van through the rear doors.

To make the stay as comfortable as possible, the hosts have furnished the accompanying tree house with a small outdoor kitchen, a veranda, an outdoor shower and a compact travel toilet with compostable waste bags.

However, guests are warned that the water may not work during the winter months if temperatures drop below zero.

Since there are no shops nearby, guests can order a pizza package at the campsite, including a ball of homemade dough, a bag of pepperoni, a bag of mozzarella and cooking instructions.

And for dessert there is a s’mores package if you really want to get into the camping spirit, with marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers. Homemade chocolate chip cookies are also offered.

So far, the unique property has a five-out-of-five rating on Airbnb from 153 reviews and the site says it’s one of their “most loved homes.”

One guest left a glowing review after their stay in November, writing: ‘A great, secluded place to get away from the world.

‘I made last minute plans to stay in the Unimog with my wife for my second anniversary and couldn’t be happier.

‘It’s a fun, off-grid camping experience with great amenities and a helpful group of people who make you feel at home.’

Another happy camper said after touring the site in October: ‘If I could give it six stars I would! Fantastic stay!!! I loved every minute of this adventure. Immediate greetings from [host] Halee and she took care of us from start to finish.

‘We ordered the pizza package with their freshly made dough. Astonishing! The experience was wonderful.

‘My son and I both made a personal pizza with the kit. The free cookies were to die for. Flexible check-in and check-out. Lots of trails, we spent some time at Case Rock, a short distance from the Unimog.

‘We loved this unique experience and can’t wait to come back! I had sufficient reception outside the power. Had everything we needed.’
