He was today appointed Martyn Blake following a hearing at the Old Bailey.

Kaba, 24, was shot in the head by a single shot after a chase in Streatham, south London, on September 5, 2022.

He had been driving in the dark Audi car when he was followed by an unmarked police car with no lights or sirens.

The rapper turned into Kirkstall Gardens and collided with a marked police car.

Blake allegedly fired one shot that went through the windshield of the Audi he was driving and hit him in the head.

His vehicle was stopped after an automatic license plate recognition camera was activated.

It later emerged that the Audi Kaba was driving, which was not his, had been linked by police to a firearms incident the previous day.

Blake was charged following an investigation by The Independent Office for Police Conduct.

After the action, firearms officers surrendered their weapons as part of a protest against the accusation.
